FAQ
What is the AI Fear & Greed Index?
It is a daily snapshot of how artificial intelligence is perceived across media and the community. We combine news sentiment with community sentiment to reflect how narratives and public mood evolve.
How do you measure sentiment?
We analyze AI-related news items and map them to a -1 (fear) to +1 (greed) scale. Community votes provide an additional signal. Our coverage spans topics like generative AI, large language models (LLMs), AI safety, AI regulation & policy,AI investment and startups, AI alignment, and industry impact.
What sources are included?
Reputable technology, science, and business publications plus high-signal community sources. We prioritize original reporting and analysis related to model capabilities, deployment, safety, governance, and market effects.
How often is the index updated?
Daily. New articles and a newsletter summary are committed each day. The website reads the latest data at runtime, so updates appear without redeploys.
What do "Fear", "Neutral", and "Greed" mean?
They are shorthand labels for negative, balanced, and positive sentiment regarding AI developments. For example, concerns about risk or regulation may tilt toward fear, while breakthroughs, adoption, or positive business outcomes may tilt toward greed.
